This design resembles two overlapping dishes and is a signature monohanako series. The gap in the rim gives the dish an airy, light feeling. When stacked, the multiple overlapping edges create an interesting sculpture so I hope you will enjoy its appearance even when stored in the cabinet.
White is an orthodox clean color that suits all kinds of food and interior aesthetics. White is pure and simple and yet no white is the same. There are creamy whites, cool whites, grayish and pinkish whites. I like the softness and subtlety of whites.
When white ware is immersed in water crazing may appear. A craze is a crack on the surface of the glaze. It is a natural characteristic of the glaze and does not mean that the vessel itself is broken.
