A short cylindrical mug produced in collaboration with stylist Masako Ito's Weeksdays.
Its generous size makes it suitable as a cafe au lait or soup bowl. It has a squat body and a stable base, and is comforting to hold with two hands. It features a gentle, rounded handle with a comfortable grip.
White is an orthodox clean color that suits all kinds of food and interior aesthetics. White is pure and simple and yet no white is the same. There are creamy whites, cool whites, grayish and pinkish whites. I like the softness and subtlety of whites.
When white ware is immersed in water crazing may appear. A craze is a crack on the surface of the glaze. It is a natural characteristic of the glaze and does not mean that the vessel itself is broken.
Hanako makes each piece by hand, one by one. Slight variations in size, shape, color, and surface are inherent to the process. We hope you will embrace these small differences as characteristics that give each piece individuality and character, making them all the more lovable.
